I took a chance purchasing this TV stand, as here were no reviews on the product and it was a tad pricey. However, I needed a product made of real wood and a color that would match the dresser that the TV stand would rest upon. The oak shaker style TV stand is indeed real wood and arrived in timely fashion. When I removed the well-packaged stand from its box, the product smelled like fresh varnish - overwhelmingly so. However, there were no flaws in the varnish, the coat was evenly applied, and the smell of the chemical dissipated in an open room within a matter of days. I took a chance purchasing this TV stand and I'm really glad that I did. It's beautiful and functional (something one can't often proclaim about a TV stand), sturdy and well-made, and I've been relishing the compliments it receives. It matches my furniture and fits the Blu-ray player underneath perfectly. They even added felt pads on the bottom four corners of the stand to protect your furniture! They really did think of everything.
